I have been practicing yoga since 1997 and teaching since 2006. Mindful breathing, lucid dreaming, and gentle movement have been sources of comfort and guidance since I was a child. In 1997 I read a meditation book that mentioned yoga and was inspired to try classes. I was captivated, particularly by the practice of yoga nidra, and later completed yoga teacher training at Hatha Yoga Center in Seattle to learn more and support others.

In 2010 I discovered Sattva Yoga, developed in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas. I stepped into Sattva while healing a spine injury. Through Sattva, I not only brought greater health to my spine, I transformed my mind and my life. I have since journeyed to India six times to participate in Sattva teacher training and wisdom immersion experiences.

I specialize in yoga nidra and developed my approach over 15 years of dedicated study, practice, and teaching. My unique approach emphasizes 1) the holding of simple, safe, welcoming space for individuals to be at ease and experience shifts that make a difference in their lives, 2) the sharing of the heartfelt, authentic, unscripted messages and imagery, and 3) the notion that we are all beings of joy who, at any moment, may return home to our true state of happiness. My first yoga nidra teacher training will be offered in 2017.

I also teach other restorative practices such as restorative/gentle yoga, mala and mantra, and reflective writing. As a teacher I am playful, encouraging, and invite others into acceptance and joy. It is my vision that by holding restorative space, students create ripple effects of positive change that restores communities.

I teach at Yoga in the Center in Mill Creek. I have also worked for over twenty years in administrative positions within health and human services. In my leisure time I read, train for swimming and racewalking competitions, share laughs with my husband and three parrots, and sit on the Board of Directors of Fearless Beauty.
