Bowspring classes combine yoga-inspired poses with dynamic exercises like jumping, hopping, walking, and spinning into a non-vinyasa based class. You will learn it’s alignment and new poses through a playful spectrum of twists, side bends, backbends, forward bends, and going upside down while learning how to maintain the shape of the Bowspring. It’s physically therapeutic yet challenging. In this class you will learn the basic knowledge to create the Bowspring posture: a new lower back curvature with a radiant lift of the thoracic body, a.k.a. the heart, and an even engagement of the muscles on the back of the body to spring-load this bow shape. There will be practice, demonstrations, and discussion. This posture can be learned by anyone, any age, and can be applied in all activities throughout your day- sitting, standing, prone, and supine.
