Bowspring: Vital Power
Limited Capacity seats available

Bowspring classes combine yoga-inspired poses with dynamic exercises like jumping, hopping, walking, twirling into a non-vinyasa based class. You will learn it’s alignment and new poses through a playful spectrum of twists, side bends, backbends, forward bends, and going upside down while learning how to maintain the shape of the Bowspring. It’s physically therapeutic yet challenging. This class picks it up and puts the Bowspring more into a fluid, dance like experience between dynamic movements, balancing poses, and going upside-down. This athletic class will leave every part of you drenched with new possibilities. Prior Bowspring experience is advised, but hey we only live once...

The body has curves, and the Bowspring is all about learning how powerful and healthy they are for you. The Bowspring is a dynamically balanced posture for anybody. What is a dynamically balanced posture? Sweet question! It’s as simple as honoring your body’s natural alignment: full, radiant thoracic, powerful glutes that gives a deep, gentle lumbar curve, and a balanced head. You learn to balance your head, but you also balance the mind inside that head. It’s serious focus. It’s serious kindness. Seriously, it’s for you. This class introduces the dynamic postural alignment of the Bowspring. There will be practice, demonstrations and discussion to create this powerful posture that will reorient your yoga poses but also change the way you sit, stand, walk, and move in your everyday life. This class is for anyone. It will challenge the most experienced yogi yet it is accessible for the newest student.

Bowspring classes combine yoga-inspired poses with dynamic exercises like jumping, hopping, walking, and spinning into a non-vinyasa based class. You will learn it’s alignment and new poses through a playful spectrum of twists, side bends, backbends, forward bends, and going upside down while learning how to maintain the shape of the Bowspring. It’s physically therapeutic yet challenging. In this class you will learn the basic knowledge to create the Bowspring posture: a new lower back curvature with a radiant lift of the thoracic body, a.k.a. the heart, and an even engagement of the muscles on the back of the body to spring-load this bow shape. There will be practice, demonstrations, and discussion. This posture can be learned by anyone, any age, and can be applied in all activities throughout your day- sitting, standing, prone, and supine.
