Radical Healing
Limited Capacity seats available

True transformation begins when we understand there is no separation between the mind, body, and spirit. Understanding this interdependency can radically shift the way we “see” the body, empowering us to support our own health and wellness in a more integrated (and therefore holistic) way. Through yoga, we can explore the mind/body connection, the impact our emotional life has on our health, how to “read” or map the body symbolically, and how to interpret these physiological/emotional messages as spiritual guidance meant to open us to love, acceptance, and to appreciate the interconnection that binds us all as one.

Deconstruct The Drama….. Breaking Down Asana
Limited Capacity seats available

B.K.S Iyengar said “If our bodies are our temples, asana are prayers." Ones practice shouldn't harm them, it should be an expression of devotion, a “meditation in motion." Unfortunately, most of us practice from our ego not the spirit, which is why practitioners have so many yoga related injuries (I have many myself). Contrary to popular belief, Cirque Du Soleil- level contortions are not the pinnacle of the practice. Each posture, no matter how challenging or complex, can be dissected into its core elements- its “root expressions." We will warm up with some full body opening salutations and then break down some asana into its component parts to make previously unattainable postures devotional -not dangerous.

Lessons we learn on the mat can translate into lessons to implement in our lives.   Boundaries we develop or don’t develop on the mat can inform or reflect boundaries we have off of it.  For each situation, each class, we look for a balance between openness and protection.  There are times we need to push and others when its better to back down. There are boundaries that protect and serve us and those that limit us.  This workshop will begin with a 15-minute discussion about defining and identifying boundaries followed by a 60-minute Blue Light flow designed specifically to provide students with opportunities to push themselves or back down in their asana practice, and conclude with a 15-minute discussion about participants’ experiences and how they may or may not see parallels between boundaries on and off their mat.

Aligning With The Stars
Limited Capacity seats available

In this workshop, we will explore our experiences and perspectives of familiar asanas with the intention of finding new perspectives and reactions.  After a 20-minute flow to create heat, we will breakdown the alignment of trikonasana, parsvottanasana, parivritta trikonasana, seth bandhasana, and shalabasana as a means to provide a broad base of knowledge to apply in any posture.  We will begin with outlining the universal alignment of each pose and then turn to the objective of letting go of how a pose should look or feel, and instead, search for a more authentic alignment where one finds a sense of ease and healing.  We will move through intensity, resistance, and injuries to find space, clarity and peace.  We will discuss the importance of finding a sustainable practice, listening to our inner teacher, negotiating opposing energies that hold a posture together and the benefit of taking these ideas beyond the mat.

The Seed
Limited Capacity seats available

Georgia is known for her creative, innovative and smart sequencing which she threads together with strong alignment cues and an emphasis on moving to the beat of one’s breath. In Georgia's signature Blue Light flow, which draws from her roots in Ashtanga and Vinyasa and personal experience, she leads a sequence multiple times before, often without even knowing it, one arrives at a certain pose, method, or idea with a fresh or new perspective. In this workshop, after a 60-minute signature Blue Light flow, Georgia will discuss how her sequences come from something small and fresh in her daily life which she often thinks of as a  “seed,” and how she uses her own practice to develop that seed.  Participants will be asked to identify possible seeds in their own lives and test out Georgia’s method in creating a short sequence on their own.

Limited Capacity seats available

Everyone’s always talking about how yogis have "that glow” but it’s not necessarily a hard core asana practice that makes the glow happen. To unlock the long lasting health and vibrancy you seek, you also want to live a conscious life and choose what you consume wisely. In this practice, you will flow through yummy detoxifying twists, chest openers, deep femur rooting hip openers, and pranayama while exploring what makes you glow from the inside out when you’re not on the mat. Amy will be sharing her own "secrets of the glow" and tying the practice back to nature and the world around us. Hard Core: Soft Heart…
Limited Capacity seats available

As we all know, true strength comes from the core, the power center of our being. A strong physical core will support our lower backs, organs, and spine, allowing us to stand up straight and focus ahead with poise and confidence. A strong core will also support us emotionally, encouraging us to be strong and centered when dealing with “gut wrenching” situations. Having a “soft heart” is the root of being compassionate, and as yogis, compassionate living is an important part of our process. By opening this area through breath and posture we can allow our seat of love and kindness to expand and flourish. With a foundation of a strong core and an open heart we can stride through life with confidence and concern for ourselves and others. This will be a flowing practice, strung together by breath with lots of core engaging and heart opening work throughout.
